About Me

I work at a vocational higher education institution in Cape Town. I've worked at this institution in a teaching/academic position for almost two decades. In my current position I work in the central teaching and learning unit where I have an academic staff development role with the extended curriculum domain. My academic pursuits dabble in the socio-cultural and contextual understandings of student learning and curriculum. I'm also very interested in student writing development and how to support students to become more aware of the language and writing demands in the academy. I like seeing myself as a lifelong learner and would like to do some formal courses in undergraduate Sociology, Art and Design and Linguistics.

Other than my academic pursuits I also enjoy
- zumba classes
- walking
- yoga
- swimming
- reading novels (especially by South African and African writers)
- Salsa dancing
- watching movies, drama and documentaries
- being in the company of my nieces and nephews, when they will have me
